SOFTCUT KNIFE CO. is a collaboration between blacksmith Kiran Chapman of Soma Metalwork and knife specialist Evan Atwell of Strata and Strata Swords. We bring together years of experience forging, sharpening, selling, and servicing knives, along with an ongoing study of makers and workshops in Japan and beyond.

Every SOFTCUT knife is made by hand in small batches and designed for daily use. We strive to make tools that are both rooted in craft tradition, and constantly evolving. We focus on thoughtful steel choices, clean geometry, and simple, considered design.
